The school system is the focal point of the community and is strongly supported through residents active participation in school events and activities. The district has an enrollment of 900 plus students and a staff of 165 including 100 teachers and administrators. The district is a member of the Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Board of Cooperative Services (BOCES).

The Elementary School is located on East Bacon Street and the Middle/Senior High School is on Madison Street. Major renovations and additions were completed in 1984 1995, 2003 and 2007. In 2003, a state of the art Fitness Center for school and community use was added. The 2007 expansion renovated the Music wing, the Technology rooms, the Home and Careers room and added state of the art Middle School Science labs. The combined 52-acre campus contains outstanding indoor and outdoor athletic facilities that host a variety of League, Section III and statewide competitions.
